WIT Training Club x GymSync

Building Community Through Training

If you've been to the WIT Training Club before, you'll know what we're about.

The goal has always been simple: get more people training together. Different backgrounds, different disciplines, different abilities, same room. A chance to meet new people, push yourself, share a few laughs, and leave a little (or a lot) sweatier than when you arrived.

That's exactly why teaming up with GymSync felt like such a natural fit.

Like us, GymSync believes functional fitness should be accessible and welcoming. Sure, they call it "simple competition," but I can tell you first hand that “simple” does NOT mean “easy”.

On Saturday 18th, Sleven Fitness threw open the doors and welcomed over 80 athletes and spectators ready to team up, throw down and cheer each other on. Over the course of 45 mins, teams of 4 worked their way through 2 workouts including some classic GymSync functional fitness movements - SkiErg and burpees - and something new to GymSync: running.

Whether it was your first WIT Training Club or you’ve been to all of them, the atmosphere was exactly what we love to see: high energy, tons of effort and big support between the teams.

Hearing people cheer for their teammates as the clock counts down never gets old. It's one of those moments that reminds me why we do this… to create a space where people connect, get a bit competitive, support one another, and just have a great time through training.

The event also marked the beginning of a bigger partnership between WIT and GymSync, and if Saturday was anything to go by, there's plenty to look forward to. We will have more info on this for you soon, but keep your eyes peeled!

As GymSync founder Nick Denby put it:

"GymSync is built around simple, accessible competition that brings people together. The WIT Training Club already has such a strong sense of community, so this partnership feels incredibly natural. Saturday was a brilliant first event, and we are excited for everything we have planned together."

Of course, no WIT Training Club is complete without great partners helping to fuel the day. Huge thanks to Optimum Nutrition, who kept everyone hydrateds with electrolyte cans throughout the event, and Forti, whose protein ice cream was the perfect post-workout reward (and disappeared remarkably quickly). We can’t wait to have you guys back!

On a personal note, this collaboration has been a fun one. By complete chance, I actually competed in the very first GymSync event - our Marketing Manager Becky is also a GymSync veteran - so it's been brilliant watching the community grow from those early days into what it is now. Seeing both communities come together under one roof made this feel like the start of something really exciting.

Community has always been at the heart of WIT Training Club. Every event is another reminder that the best part of training isn't just the workout: it's the people you share it with.

Here's to many more sessions together.
