Behind the Seams
The Aeris Collection
There's nothing worse than a kit that can't keep pace with the way you actually train. That's the gap Aeris was built to close. Engineered with a responsive stretch that recovers instantly with every rep, stride or lift, the fabric is near-weightless and quick-dry, built to regulate rather than just react, holding its shape and performance across a broader spectrum of training than anything we've made before. It's our most technical training collection yet. We sat down with Andi, our head of product, to talk through the design process, the fabrics behind it, and why Aeris is about to become a wardrobe essential.
Performance Engineered.
For anyone new to the range, how would you describe the Aeris material/concept?
Aeris is our more technical expression of tops and tees. It’s designed for someone who wants their product to respond to the intensity of their training. Something incredibly lightweight, breathable, quick-drying and with enough stretch to really move with you.
The material itself is almost spiderweb-like. It has this really light, open feel with a subtle semi-mesh effect, and as the fabric stretches that openness becomes even more apparent, allowing for greater breathability.
What makes it special?
For me, it’s the combination of how incredibly light it feels while still being a genuinely technical performance material. There’s a tactility to it that makes it visually interesting, but that texture also helps create this open, airy quality when you’re wearing it.
I also love that we use the same material across the men’s and women’s collection, but the way we’ve applied it is quite different. It shows how much you can change the experience of a material simply through fit, proportion and styling.
How do you balance performance, comfort and style when designing the collection?
It always starts with the consumer. Before we design anything, we want to understand who we’re designing for, talking to them, understanding how they train, what they need from their product and ultimately what they want to wear.
With Aeris, you can see that particularly clearly in the fits. We’ve given the men’s product a little more room through the body, while the women’s is much closer to the body and slightly more cropped. Those decisions reflect what we’re seeing both stylistically and functionally in the gym and within our community right now.
The women’s long sleeve also has thumbholes, for example, which makes it a really versatile piece for running, outdoor sessions or simply layering as the weather changes.
What details or features do you think people might overlook, but make a big difference?
The material itself is probably the biggest one. At first glance you notice the texture, but when you actually put it on and move in it, you start to understand what that texture does. As the material stretches, it opens up and creates even more breathability.
I also think the fit differences between men’s and women’s are important. It isn’t simply the same product resized, we’ve thought about how each consumer wants to wear it and built the silhouettes around that.
What has been the response so far, and what feedback has shaped the range?
The response has been really positive. We’ve taken Aeris through multiple rounds of product testing, and that process is incredibly important to us. We want to understand not just whether something technically performs, but how people actually feel wearing it and training in it.
That feedback has helped us refine the fits and has also given us confidence to keep pushing the material further. There’s a lot more we can do with it.
As the collection grows, what can people expect to see next?
For spring, we’re really starting to push the expression of Aeris. We’re exploring different executions using the same material, playing more with colour and leaning further into its tactile and semi-sheer qualities.
What excites me is that we’ve really only started to explore what this material can do. There are a lot of opportunities to evolve it while keeping that incredibly lightweight, technical feeling at the core.
What’s your favourite new piece coming, and why are you excited about it?
For women, it has to be the long sleeve. Personally, I love training in a long sleeve — particularly for things like muscle-ups where I want that little bit of coverage, or when the weather starts getting cooler and I want another layer.
I also really love the semi-sheer quality of Aeris when it’s fitted close to the body. It creates a completely different expression of a technical training piece and gives you the opportunity to play with layering underneath it.
For men, I’m most excited about the tee. We’ve given the body slightly more room than you might expect from a traditional training tee, and I think that change in proportion gives it a really modern feel while still performing exactly how you need it to.
If someone could only start with one Aeris item, which would you recommend and why?
For women, I’d start with the long sleeve; for men, the tee. They’re both really easy, go-to pieces that show what Aeris is about.
The tee is something you can reach for again and again, while the women’s long sleeve is an incredibly versatile layering piece. Both give you that lightweight, breathable technical performance, but in silhouettes that still feel considered and relevant outside of pure performance.
