HYROX World Championships 2026
The HYROX World Championships transformed Stockholm into the epicentre of fitness racing this weekend, bringing together the sport's biggest stars, emerging talent, passionate fans, and some of the industry's most influential brands.
The Fitness Racing World Descended on Sweden
Set against the backdrop of one of Europe's most picturesque cities, the championship delivered on every front. From dramatic finishes and breakthrough performances to packed fan zones. Stockholm felt every bit like a world championship host city. The atmosphere was electric throughout the weekend, with athletes and spectators creating a community feel that extended far beyond the competition floor.
Alongside the elite competition, thousands of age-group athletes travelled from around the world to test themselves against the very best. One of those athletes was Alice Jones, who shared her experience of competing at the championships.
It was amazing to race alongside athletes I've seen throughout the season, pushing each other, supporting one another, and sharing such a special experience on the world stage. The atmosphere around the venue and throughout Stockholm was unforgettable, and the sense of community within HYROX was stronger than ever.
Going into my solo race on Friday, I was really excited and a bit nervous. I'd invested so much into training this season and wanted to do myself justice. The conditions were tough—the venue was hot and it was a grind from start to finish. But having my family, partner, coach, and friends there supporting me made all the difference.
I dug deep mentally, trusted the work I'd put in, and crossed the finish line with a new personal best of 61:59, finally breaking the 62-minute barrier. I finished 14th overall in the world and 8th in my age group—something I'm hugely proud of.
Saturday brought another opportunity to compete, this time in the doubles race with Becky Beech. We had an amazing time in a fiercely competitive heat, pushing ourselves to our absolute limits. We finished 8th overall in the world and 5th in our age group, which was an incredible achievement for only our second race together.
One of the highlights of the weekend was watching friends compete in the Elite 15 races and seeing years of hard work pay off on the biggest stage. Meeting and speaking with elite athletes, learning from their experiences, and understanding what drives them left me feeling motivated and inspired for what's next.
Now that I'm home, my body is definitely ready for some recovery. After a few well-earned rest days, my focus will shift towards Turf Games and some new challenges ahead. But if there's one thing this weekend confirmed, it's that I want to be back at the HYROX World Championships next year. The experience was too special for this to be the last one, and I'm excited to put in the work required to get there.
Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout the season and helped make this experience possible. Competing on the world stage is a privilege, and I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity."
Centre Stage for Brands and Innovation
Alongside the racing, the commercial side of HYROX continued to demonstrate why the sport has become one of the hottest properties in fitness.
Adidas arrived with a strong presence, using the championship stage to showcase its latest performance footwear and reinforce its growing commitment to the HYROX community. Across the venue, brands activated in increasingly creative ways, offering product trials, athlete meet-and-greets, recovery experiences, and interactive fan engagement opportunities.
The scale and sophistication of the brand presence highlighted just how far HYROX has come. What was once a niche fitness event now feels like a major global sporting platform attracting serious investment from some of the biggest names in sport.
The Shoe Everyone Was Talking About
One of the biggest talking points of the weekend wasn't an official launch at all – it was a shoe.
HYROX champions Dylan Scott and Lauren Weeks both took to the championship floor wearing what appeared to be an unreleased Nike model, immediately sparking speculation across the HYROX community. With neither athlete nor Nike sharing any technical details ahead of the event, fans were left trying to piece together clues from race-day photos and social media posts.
The intrigue only grew as both athletes went on to deliver championship-winning performances. Whether the shoe is a future HYROX-specific product, a prototype, or simply a new addition to Nike's performance lineup remains unknown, but that didn't stop it becoming one of the most discussed pieces of kit in Stockholm.
More Than Just Racing
Perhaps the standout takeaway from Stockholm was the sense of community that continues to define the sport.
Elite athletes shared the stage with age-group competitors chasing personal milestones. First-time qualifiers competed alongside multiple world champions. Every race, every cheer, and every finish line celebration reinforced the unique culture that has helped fuel HYROX's remarkable rise.
As the final races concluded and the crowds filtered out of the venue, one thing was clear: Stockholm had delivered a world-class championship. New champions were crowned, brands showcased the future of fitness, and HYROX once again demonstrated why it continues to be one of the fastest-growing movements in global sport.
