Putting the R.A.D® SYNTH Through Its Paces
Under Pressure #001
Welcome the first ever Under Pressure, where we take a new piece of kit, put it in the hands (or in this case, on the feet) of one of our WIT coaches, and see how it performs when training gets real.
First up: the R.A.D® SYNTH
We handed a fresh pair over to Coach Elise and asked her to pull a session together for us. She came prepped with a running and wall ball workout to test the SYNTH’s ability to move fast, stay comfy and hold up when the legs start to get heavy.
The Test
Can the SYNTH handle the demands of a hybrid-style session?
With running intervals paired alongside wall balls, the shoe had to deliver on comfort, responsiveness and grip, without getting in the way when things started to speed up.
The Workout:
20:00 AMRAP
400m Run
15 Wall Balls
+10 Wall Balls Each Round
And the verdict? We were impressed.
The SYNTH did exactly what it promised to do. It’s lightweight, stable and responsive underfoot, making it a great option for shorter runs, conditioning sessions and WODs where running is part of the mix.
The Breakdown
So what makes the SYNTH work?
The SwellFoam™ midsole strikes a really nice balance between cushioning, responsiveness and durability. It feels comfortable enough to keep moving, but still has that snappy feeling you want when you’re picking up the pace.
At just 232g with a 6mm drop, it gives you all the cushioning and responsiveness without feeling bulky or restrictive.
