Turf Games : Inside the WIT Tent

Sun, Sweat and the WIT Community

Turf Games has always been about more than just competition. It's where training, community and good vibes come together outdoors - usually on either the hottest day of the year, or the one summer weekend where it doesn't stop raining. Thankfully, this year we got lucky with the weather, and WIT was right in the middle of the action.

If you were at Turf Games this past weekend, chances are you found us. The WIT tent became the go-to spot to grab your competition essentials (a surprising number of you somehow "forgot" your R.A.D.s... although we're convinced some of you were just looking for an excuse to treat yourselves some freshies), check out our latest collection and catch up with familiar faces from the community. Whether you stopped by to shop or simply escaped between events for a chat, it was brilliant to see so many of you. And by "chat", we do of course mean collectively processing that worm workout.

Inside the tent, we had some newly released WIT apparel up for grabs, a hand-picked range of our favourite training shoes, and one of the busiest spots of the weekend: our customisation station. Our Head of Apparel, Andi, was on hand cropping tees and creating custom vinyl prints with the heat press, giving people the chance to leave with something completely unique. Safe to say, it was a hit.

Meanwhile, out on the competition floor, Team WIT were flying the flag in the Elite division under a relentless 34°C sun. Every event brought a different challenge, including the debut of the brand-new C2 StrengthErg, which nobody had laid hands on before the weekend. The team took everything in their stride, combining grit, teamwork and a lot of determination to secure a well-earned spot comfortably inside the competition's top 10.

Team WIT

Which workout challenged you the most?

“Definitely the final workout. It demanded the most teamwork and was super intense! The worm is always a tough bit of kit, especially when none of you has practised it before, and it is the last event of the day. We were all in a bad way after this one!”

Who was the team's biggest hype person?

“Louis - the man who never stops talking - Towers.”

What moment are you proudest of?

“It would strangely have to be the final workout. It’s so easy to lose composure and start arguing with each other when a workout gets hard and demands teamwork. But I was so proud of the way we all were able to communicate with each other, step in for one another when we could see one of us needed a break, and push ourselves to the limit!”

What makes this team work so well together?

“We worked well together mostly because I think we are all vvvvv experienced in comp. So we had good tactics.”

Who packed the best snacks?

Ben said Ben packed the best snacks, so I’m taking his word for it.

Describe your weekend in three words.

“Hot. Hyped. Fast.”

Shoutout to Team WIT: Louis Towers, Scott Treleaven, Jenni Banks, Nicky Screawn, Josie Winfield, Ben Chipperfield

Until Next Year…

One of the best things about weekends like this is being reminded that WIT is so much more than a retail space. It's never been just about workouts or the leaderboard. It's about the people who show up, push themselves, cheer each other on and create an atmosphere that makes everyone feel part of something bigger.

We are our community; you guys are what makes us WIT.

See you next year on the Turf.
